One of the best ways to enjoy more the good company that you have is to have a great food. In a lot of cases, when you go out with your family and friends, you end up going into a nice restaurant that is known for the good foods that they serve. But just because you want to take a bite of something does not mean that you have to go out at all times.

Among the favorite subjects of try out today are the pumpkins. They are not only great for dessert. They are also great for appetizers and main courses if done right. The emergence of many fresh pumpkin recipes is a manifestation of the wide demand for its variation. So if you want to give it a try, be sure to know the things that we will be sharing today.

One that you should always keep in mind when buying pumpkins is its quality. There are many out there that come in different sizes. Choose the one that is not so big and is firm and healthy looking. By healthy looking, we mean those free of bruises. There are fresh ones which has labels, indicating that they are safe and approved by the right food authorities. You may opt to go for this.

Then, also take note of the days when you want it stored. You can buy in advance and then store it for some time before cooking it up. Just place it somewhere that is dry and cool. High temperature can potentially damage the quality. To avoid any over storage, it is recommended to buy few days before you need it.

Generally, there are three modes by which you can cook this. One is through baking, two is by boiling and the last one is by microwave. All of these methods work given that you do the process right. Here is a short guide.

Through baking. Prepare your oven by heating it to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the pumpkin to half. Grab a dish and place the pumpkins in them. Then place them inside the oven. Exactly after an hour and a half, turn off the oven and let the pumpkin cool down. At this point, it should already be tender. Scoop the flesh to finish.

For the boiling method, start by cutting the pumpkin into half. Next, peel then cut them to chunks. Get a saucepan where you place the chunks. After that, pour with water so that it covers the chunks. Then, start boiling. Once tender, allow it to cool. Proceed by mashing it with the use of potato masher.

Through microwave. Same with the other two, cut the pumpkin to half. Turn on the microwave and set it to high power. Place the vegetable inside and allow seven minutes to pass. Turn off the microwave and wait for some minutes to cool it down. Mash it.

The available recipes for pumpkins are varied. The decision is yours. If you want to cook something more complicated, you can always ask a family or a friend to help you out. Cooking is also a good bonding time.
