Successfully Grilling An Amazing Dinner

By Hedrick Lepsch

What comes to mind when you think of being manly? Grilling steaks is what comes to my mind.

If you want to be manly this summer, be sure to have a cookout and grill up meat. However, there are several tips and tricks you'll want to keep in mind while you're grilling so that you can grill up the best meal you have ever tasted.

First up, identify your audience. Who are you inviting to this event? It's important to know who you are catering to. The world is full of opposing opinions.

You may ask your friend or neighbor and they will say gas, but your dad will say charcoal. The truth is that neither styling of cooking is superior; they are just different.

Gas definitely burns cleaner than charcoal. Charcoal emits more carbon monoxide and soot up into the atmosphere, which contributes to higher levels of pollution.

If you are someone who loves to protect the environment, you will want to cook with gas. However, many people choose to cook with charcoal because it gives your meat a smoky, rich taste.

It is up to you to choose; don't let yourself be pressured into believing that one way of cooking is better than the other. Before you are ready to grill, you will want to make sure that your grill is preheated at least 15 or 20 minutes before you're ready to slap the meat on the grill.

The reason for this is that you want to make sure it reaches a high enough temperature so that any bacteria that could be on the grill are killed off. If your grill is heated to the proper heat, it will sear your food but also keep the insides moist.

Second, provide good, clean food. Prepare your food with the utmost care. Don't slip into bad habits, e.g. not washing your hands or undercooking the meat. If you must insist on undercooking the meat, then let your guests know before they take it from you on the grill.

For those who decide to use charcoal while they grill, you should keep in mind that there are different types of charcoal that you can use to grill. The best type of charcoal to use is an additive-free charcoal because it is basically just charred wood.

This is the cleanest way to use charcoal with your grill. Other types of charcoal may contain sawdust, wood scraps, sodium nitrate, and even coal dust.

You should probably also try not to use lighter fluid when you are grilling. There are many negative consequences to using lighter fluid.

Lighter fluid can leave a strange residue on your food, making your favorite hot barbeque sauce taste very odd. You should leave your hot barbeque sauce untainted and just avoid using lighter fluid.

The final most important thing is to stay safe. Make sure you are always aware of the meat on your grill and you do not leave it unattended. Stay safe and enjoy your summer grilling!
